We’re seeking a future team member in the role of Specialist, Full Stack Developer to join Discovery Service team. This role is located in the United States - Remote. You will be responsible for developing automation across the core infrastructure stack – network, storage, compute, database. Candidate will need to know how software is built, configured, and deployed. Write services, plugins, and agents. Our application runs on BNYM App Engine, a platform as a service that schedules and runs containerized applications on Virtual Machines across our data centers.

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:

  • Full stack development of end-to-end provisioning automation
  • Be able to work independently to contribute to a large team delivering solutions to the meet the needs of executive management as well as the general employee population.
  • Develop features in an agile environment where we quickly prototype and iterate on functionality.
  • Develop robust functionality in a complex, distributed systems codebase.
  • Support and maintain existing functionalities and on-board new functionalities to existing applications.
  • Work extensively with open-source software. You may even modify or extend code maintained as part of an open-source project.
  • Code services and User Interfaces in Golang, Java, Angular
  • Use innovative tools and frameworks such as SpringBoot, Java, Angular, Docker, Mesos, Nomad, Vault and Consul

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:

  • Need to understand middleware and infrastructure and provide the tools and services that allow developers to run their applications.
  • working with mission critical systems
  • Be an experienced Java Developer. Knowledge of Spring Boot, SDLC and System Development Lifecycle
  • Solid foundation in networking, load balancing and DNS concepts. Angular for front end development.
  • Highly modified individual who is self-motivated and highly driven
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required. 5-7 years of experience in software development required; experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.

BNY Mellon assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $76,000 and $130,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNYM total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
